Pump up your mental game and get mentally strong for soccer at this week-long camp. Participants work with current John F. Kennedy Sport Psychology Graduate Students to learn mental skills to enhance their soccer game including:
• How to set effective goals
• Remain focused and cut out distractions
• Use positive self-talk and how to cope with self-defeating thoughts
• Increase self-confidence, use imagery, and more
Campers also work on their soccer skills with soccer drills and scrimmages led by Community Youth Center (CYC) Head Soccer Coach Brian Catalano and staff coaches Samir Sehad and Mary Stammers.
• Soccer Training Individual and Small Group Technical and Tactical Skill Development working on:
Finishing, Shooting, 1v1’s
Small group possession
Building from the back and defending as a unit including the goalkeeper and midfielders
Maximizing touches and individual skill development
• Multiple small sided game (SSG) opportunities to improve vision, awareness and improved skill development
