NFL Legend Jeff Garcia Headlines California Classic Health Flag Football Camp

Aspiring pro football athletes have the opportunity to be mentored and learn from NFL legend Jeff Garcia at a single-day camp held in San Jose, California. Not only will players get first-hand, skilled-based knowledge to use on the field, but they will also be educated with heart health and mental wellness information that can save lives.

Hosted by Beyond the Game Health, which empowers communities through sports, health, and advocacy, the California Classic Health Flag Football Camp is a first-of-its-kind experience for youth ages eight to 18 that combines performance training with sports education.

This youth sports camp takes place Super Bowl week, specifically on Friday, January 31, at Pioneer High School. The three-hour camp is led by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jeff Garcia, who will lead the camp participants through skill-based drills while providing mentorship lessons to emphasize resilience and leadership qualities.

The training will also include information on Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), CPR/AED training with local EMS students, and athlete-led discussions on mental health resilience.

This health education is what really sets the California Classic Health Flag Football Camp apart. Many young athletes and families remain unaware of the warning signs related to SCA and the critical steps that can save a life.
