De La Salle Holds Off Centennial 35–32 to Stay Undefeated

It was three rushing touchdowns and a late defensive stop that helped the De La Salle Spartans remain undefeated.

The Spartans held off Corona Centennial 35–32 on Saturday, September 26, at California Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, improving to 5–0 in a nonleague matchup that stayed close until the final minutes.

The Spartans led 35–25 in the third quarter, but Centennial wasn’t ready to throw in the towel. Quarterback Jaden Jefferson connected with Quentin Hale for a 44-yard touchdown, bringing the Huskies back within three.

It was close when De La Salle fumbled with 2:58 remaining. However, De La Salle’s defense finished the job.

The Spartans regained possession and ran out the clock.
