Through the Life Skills Experience with The First Tee golf program, young people discover how skills essential to success on a golf course can also help them flourish in life. These skills include, self-management and interpersonal communication. They also include goal setting, mentoring and effective conflict resolution. Participants are introduced to all this plus have a great time learning the game of golf. We have several weeks and facilities from which to choose. Fee assistance is available.

Player level teaches The First Tee Golf 9 Core Values by delivering lessons full of fun golf activities. Each lesson seamlessly integrates one of the Core Values into the golf activities and wraps up by pointing out how it relates to other aspects of life.

The Par level is open to participants who have successfully completed all the certification requirements in the Player level. This level builds on the 9 Core Values learned in Player and teaches self-management life skills. Players will learn techniques to find activities they enjoy, respect rules and etiquette. They'll also meet new people, keep their cool, and more. First Tee Golf activities are used to help exercise and explore these life skills. Assessment will be a little more demanding than for Player level. It is recommended that Players new to Par go through it several times before moving to Birdie at age 11.
