XCELERATION GIRLS VOLLEYBALL (CONCORD)

Seven teams finished in the Top 36 of their respective age groups in the Championship Divisions of the NCVA Power League, with three of these teams finishing in Gold and four teams in Silver in the Regional Championships.

The 18 Blue and 17 Blue squads ultimately qualified for the Junior Nationals in the National and American divisions, respectively. The 18 Blue team earned a Top 20 finish at Nationals, going 5-4 overall and winning 11 of 19 sets.

City Beach fielded 28 teams in 2015 across the 11U-18U spectrum. Several of the programs had standout seasons.

+ The 12-2 (Green) team took FIRST place at NCVA’s 2015 Bay View Classic
+ City Beach 17-1 (Black) took FIRST place at NCVA 2015 Regionals
as well as THIRD at the 2015 AAU Nationals in 17 Open
+ 17-1 Black players Hannah Turnlund and Chanti Holroyd each earned All-Tournament Honors at AAU Nationals

 

 

 

DIABLO VALLEY VOLLEYBALL (PLEASANT HILL)

Diablo Valley VBC runs both boys and girls programs. It’s biggest highlight of 2015 was provided by the 18-1 Boys team, Veni Vidi Vici, qualifying for the 18 Open Division of the Boys USA Junior Nationals that was held in Columbus, OH at the end of June. They ended up 13th and winning the Silver Division with a record of 9-2. A handful of players from the roster continued on to play NCAA Div. I volleyball (Jack Cole “”Pepperdine, Owen Karlenzig “” UC Santa Barbara, Jared Kozak “” UC Santa Barbara)
The club had two other boys teams compete at Junior Nationals, the 16-1 and 17-1 teams also traveled to Ohio.

The DVVBC girls teams had a productive 2015 as well.
The 18-1 Black team finished 18th overall out of 58 teams in the NCVA Power League 18’s Division. It also took second at the Northeast Junior National Girls Qualifier.
The 16-1 Black team finished 21st overall out of 117 teams in the Power League 16’s Division.
