As games start to take place over the next couple weeks, here are 20 names NorCal girls basketball fans should make note of.

ALEXSANDRA ALVARADO (Salesian-Richmond) 

5-6 | Guard | Sr.
Salesian was 28-5 last season, and Alvarado is a big reason why good things are expected again. She will play for San Francisco State next season.

JORDAN ALLRED (Miramonte-Orinda) 

5-8 | Guard | Sr.
Allred is a scorer with deep range and look for her to put up big numbers for Miramonte this year. Idaho University will be her next stop.

ANIYAH AUGMON (Priory)

5-8 | Guard | Sr. 
A defensive demon in an age of offense, Augmon still averaged more than 14 points a game. She will take her all-around skills to New Mexico next year.

AMAYA BONNER (Bishop O’Dowd-Oakland)

6-0 | Wing | Jr. 
Athletic and skilled, Bonner (pictured at top) will get plenty of opportunity to shine on an O’Dowd team that lost a lot of firepower.

TEAGEN BROWN (Oak Ridge-El Dorado Hills)

5-10 | Wing | Jr. 
She emerged as one of NorCal’s top players last season, sparking Oak Ridge to 24 wins. More of the same is expected this year.

SYDNEY BOURLAND (Archbishop Mitty-San Jose)

5-10 | Wing | Sr. 
Bourland excels in transition, attacking the basket and finding open shooters, a role she will likely fill for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo next year as well.

SILIVIA FONONGALOA (Salesian-Richmond)

6-1 | Post | Jr.
Fonongaloa is one of the few true post players in the area, and she knows just how to use her size and strength in the Pride’s balanced attack.

ANALILLIA CABUENA (Lincoln-Stockton)

6-0 | Wing | Sr. 
The versatile wing will lead Lincoln’s attempt to unseat St. Mary’s as the best team in Stockton. She’s going to UC Santa Barbara next fall.

CHARITY GALLEGOS (Folsom)

5-3 | Guard | Sr. 
As one would expect from a small guard, Gallegos is a threat from 3-point distance, but the Chico State-bound talent also averaged 4.6 rebounds a game.

HUNTER HERNANDEZ (Archbishop Mitty-San Jose)

5-10 | Guard | Sr.
Hernandez is a versatile, physical player who does whatever needs to be done to win. She’ll showcase those abilities for UC Irvine next year.

JZANIYA HARRIEL (Antelope)

5-9 | Guard | Sr.
Harriel is a big-time shooter with a high basketball IQ and no fear of the big stage — which she’ll play on next year at Stanford.

KENNEDY JOHNSON (Bishop O’Dowd-Oakland)

5-11 | Forward | Sr. 
Johnson added some perimeter shooting to her already potent inside game last season. The UC Santa Barbara-signee will be the focal point of the Dragon offense this spring. 

UNA JOVANOVIC (Pinewood-Los Altos Hills)

5-9 | Wing | Sr.
Jovanovic, who will play for Cal State Fullerton next season, gives Pinewood versatility on the wing with an ability to both get to the rim and make 3s.

MARLEY LANGI  (Archbishop Mitty-San Jose)

6-0 | Wing | Sr.
A matchup nightmare, the UC Davis-bound Langi can rain 3s or abuse smaller defenders on the block.

AVERY LEE (Menlo School-Atherton)

5-8 | Guard | Sr. 
The leader for 21-win Menlo School, Lee can pass, defend and score, which she will do for Yale next season. 

MAKENA MASTORA (St. Joseph Notre Dame-Alameda)

5-8 | Guard | Sr.
Mastora will carry much of the load for new-look St. Joseph Notre Dame, which lost a lot of talent and will be breaking in a new coach. She will play for St. Mary’s next year.

AMANDA MUSE (Heritage-Brentwood)

6-4 | Post | So. 
The youngest player on the list, the 6-4 Muse is following in her sister Abigail’s footsteps — but there are those who say she has an even higher ceiling.

COURTNI THOMPSON (Pinewood-Los Altos Hills)

5-5 | Guard | Sr. 
Like all Pinewood players, Thompson can shoot it, but she is also an excellent rebounder. She will play for UC San Diego next fall.

OLIVIA WILLIAMS (Archbishop Mitty-San Jose)

6-0 | Wing | Sr. 
The UC Irvine-signee is a long-range shooter who’s ready and willing to take the big shot at the buzzer.

AHRRAY YOUNG (Laguna Creek-Elk Grove)

5-11 | Guard | Jr. 
Laguna Creek lost a lot of firepower, for a variety of reasons, so expect Young’s numbers to jump in her junior season — and they were impressive last year.
