WALNUT – Chiara Dailey solidified her legacy in Mt. SAC Invitational history Friday, with Olly O’Connor hoping his performance is the first of multiple titles this fall on the 3-mile layout at Mt. San Antonio College.

Dailey, a senior at La Jolla High in California, won her third career individual crown in the Division 3-4-5 girls varsity team sweepstakes race by covering the updated 3-mile layout in 17 minutes, 19.1 seconds at the 77th Mt. SAC Invitational Presented by Nike.

Dailey was seeking a third consecutive victory at the prestigious meet last year, but finished second in 17:06 in the Division 3-4-5 team sweepstakes behind Abigail Errington of South Pasadena (16:57) in her first race on the updated 3-mile course, which eliminated Poop-Out Hill and added 300 meters on the track inside Hilmer Lodge Stadium.

Dailey had won titles in 2022 and 2023 on the previous Mt. SAC course that included all three hills – Switchbacks, Poop-Out and Reservoir – and concluded on the grass just outside the stadium.

Dailey also won a Foot Locker West Regional title on the 5-kilometer layout in 2023 at Mt. SAC.
