Franklin Canyon Stables Horse Camping* - SportStars Magazine
Take your horse on vacation with you! Kim Bredehoft offers several opportunities every year to trailer the horses and camp for a weekend. Kim enjoys taking adult ladies and her younger students on trips. Good food, good company and lots of trail riding. Kim is ready to teach you how to camp with your horses. Info: 925-228-1801 or email: kimshorsetraining@me.com

Our summer camps cover a wide range of topics aimed at providing an immersive horse experience in a fun and safe environment. Our knowledgable and friendly staff and our very experienced horses and ponies make our camps a time your child will never forget.

Make new friends, expand horseback riding skills and grow horsemanship knowledge. We start each week teaching students the basics of horse riding and safety. As the week progresses, we introduce new skills like posting the trot and moving around obstacles and sometimes even a trail ride! We make sure each child is comfortable and within their level as they learn more about horses.

Many of our summer campers decide to stay and continue with lessons after their experience with us and many eventually become summer camp counselors themselves!

Activities include:
Riding
Horsemanship and Horse Care
Groundwork
Games
Arts & Crafts
Bobbing for apples (with the horses!)
Face Painting/Horse Painting
Horse Vaulting
And lots, lots more!

I have had a love affair with horses since I can remember. I began my riding addiction at age five. I was guided by great horse trainers and horse people over the years. That, combined with owning and showing various horses over the years, grew into employment from a young age and later a career. I have over 20 years of experience training horses. My extensive experience has developed a sixth sense within me. I would be happy to pass some of my knowledge onto you, your children and your family.

I have been at Franklin Canyon Stables since 2005. It is such a well rounded facility. It offers trails, two covered arenas and an outdoor arena. The program I run is flourishing. My students are showing, trail riding, learning to train young horses, horse camping, and cattle penning. In addition, they are going on junior camping trips and trail rides with Tri Cities Horsemen's Club.

I enjoy having social events with the kids and their families, and hold week long kids camps in the summer to help build their skills while giving parents much needed time. My confidence building programs help my riders of all ages become more capable riders and better rounded individuals.

I look forward to meeting you and your family.
