The women’s U.S. Olympics gymnastics team has been announced. The five women competing on Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games are Simone Biles, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, Sunisa (Suni) Lee, and Hezley Rivera.

The two alternates to travel to Paris to train with the women are Joscelyn Roberson and Leanne Wong.

Simone Biles was the top contender forTeam USA going into the weekend’s 2024 U.S. Women’s Olympic Gymnastics Trials at the Target Center in Minneapolis. Biles proved she still is the GOAT, winning the all-around title. This is her ninth U.S. all-around title.

Biles is the oldest female gymnast to represent the U.S., at age 27. She proved that age has only allowed her to become a better athlete, raising the bar with her performances.

Hezly Rivera at age 16 is the youngest member of the U.S. Olympic gymnastics team. Rivera nailed her balance beam routine, earning the highest score with 14.275. She scored 14.3 on the uneven bars and was the fifth pick for Team USA.

Suni Lee finished second in the all-around at the Trials. The Minneapolis native didn’t know if she would make it this far after battled serious health issues related to her kidneys for a year.

Jade Carey is the 2020 Olympic floor champion, whereas Jordan Chiles is the 2020 Olympic gymnastics silver medalist. Carey competed well on Friday, scoring a 14.675 on the vault, and a 13.075 on the uneven bars. Her balance beam routine scored a 13.625, and floor exercise earned her a 14.150.

Chiles came in third place in the uneven bars and the floor at the Trials with a score of  28.55 and 28.2, respectively. She was the third place all-around winner with a score of 111.425 for both days of competition.

The women’s gymnastics competitions at the 2024 Paris Olympics begin on July 26.
