Every March, runners from around the globe descend on San Juan Capistrano for one of the sport’s most electrifying events. Now in its fifth year—with the upcoming edition on March 29—the World’s Fastest 10,000m has already become synonymous with breaking barriers, shattering national records, and uniting athletes in a celebration of speed and endurance.
This includes national records broken by Alicia Monson, who improved the American record by a full 10 seconds, clocking 30:03.82 in 2023 and Grant Fisher’s 26:33.84 performance in 2022.
The momentum continued in 2024, as eight men broke the 27:00 barrier, and history was made on U.S. soil when a woman dipped below the 30:00 mark for the first time.
Expanding the Field: High School Stars Take Center Stage
This year, the meet is set to evolve even further with a full-day session of high school races. Presented by Hoka, high school runners will debut alongside the elite competition to showcase and inspire the next generation of athletes.
This innovative addition offers young athletes from across the country a golden opportunity to kick off their season in Southern California.
Every race will be broadcasted on Flotrack including the races that feature these rising high school stars.
