Lauren Harris produced a pair of state records Saturday night, helping the second-seeded Faith Christian girls basketball team achieve a significant milestone in program history with a 78-59 victory against No. 3 Weed in the Northern California Division 6 regional semifinals.
Harris, a junior guard, established all-time marks in California prep history for 3-point field goals in a season and career with her 44-point performance, lifting host Faith Christian to its first Northern California Division 6 regional final.

The Lions (28-2) will play host Tuesday to fifth-seeded Cornerstone Christian (21-10) – a 55-39 semifinal winner Saturday against No. 8 Fall River (14-14) – seeking their first regional championship.
Cornerstone Christian is pursuing its second Division 6 regional title in three years, including a 58-45 victory in 2023 against Weed.
Harris made 15 of 28 field goal attempts, including nine of 16 from behind the 3-point arc, in addition to contributing 17 rebounds and seven assists for the Lions, who extended their winning streak to 20 in a row.
Harris has 183 3-point field goals in 30 contests this season, surpassing the 179 3-pointers made in 33 games last year by Kaleena Smith of Ontario Christian, according to Cal-Hi Sports.
Harris also elevated her career total to 492 3-point field goals in 90 contests, eclipsing the previous California all-time mark of 486 3-point shots established in 118 contests by Jessica Grant of Mission Hills, according to Cal-Hi Sports.

According to MaxPreps.com, only 12 girls basketball players have made at least 500 3-point field goals in their prep careers.
Chloe Siegel of Deshler High in Alabama made 588 3-pointers from 2019-23, which is recognized as the National Federation High School record.
Three athletes from Florida – Jaden Newman from Downey Christian and Prodigy Prep, Brylee Bartram of Seffner Christian and Antoinette Bannister from Potter’s House Christian – have all made more than 600 career 3-point field goals, but they also played more than four years of high school basketball, which is allowed under state rules.
Presley Berry added 19 points and nine rebounds, with Mia Bryan contributing eight points and seven rebounds for Faith Christian, which won its 17th consecutive home game.
Weed was looking to become the first girls basketball program to reach four consecutive Northern California Division 6 regional championship contests, but Faith Christian was able to atone for a 65-61 setback against the Cougars in the regional semifinals last season.
